Hello! I am attorney Giovanna Andrea Holden. I am dedicated to helping our Hispanic community acquire or protect their legal status.
I am originally from Colombia. I immigrated to the United States at the age of 19 with my parents and siblings. Fortunately, my maternal grandfather became an American citizen and was able to petition us. The wait was long, but I managed to get to the United States before I could no longer qualify for residency due to my age.
Like many children of immigrants, I have always kept in mind the sacrifice my parents made in coming to a new country to give themselves and us a better life with more opportunities. That is why I decided to work hard during my studies to become a lawyer. I attended Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia for college. For law school, I attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Since receiving my law degree in 2011, I have worked on immigration cases and criminal cases with immigration consequences. The goal was and is to help other people have the opportunities that the United States has given me.
As an immigrant and part of an immigrant family, I understand all too well the uncertainty and fear that comes with not having legal status in the United States. The immigration system is frustrating and not accessible to people without legal training. There are many regulations and technicalities that must be dealt with unfairly in order to achieve peace of mind and financial security. That is why I have dedicated my life to making the process with the federal or state government as easy as possible for my clients.
We immigrants need to stay together and help each other!
